Let their be light

It's hard to talk about today without using the words "mud, rain, wind, and chilly." The clouds were dark today and the puddles were deep! We made it to/from the rehab. center safely thanks to our skilled drivers: Scott, Carlos, and Armando.

We got to work inside most of the day to avoid the rough conditions outside. Tile was cut, cemented, and laid in the bathroom by Lee & Steve, lights were hung, re-hung, and hung yet again in the rooms by Roger, Ken, and Derek :) bunk beds were designed & constructed by Ed & Jeff, and re bar was bent into squares by Del all while staying fairly dry!

We finished off the night with a delicious dinner of hot soup floutas and open-faced tacos with fresh guacamole & limes - yum! I'm sure we'll all sleep soundly tonight in our warm sleeping bags as the wind howls outside. The rain is good news to the residents of Tijuana because it has been very dry here and water reserves were getting low - we are here during a rare time; it only rains like this 5-6 times a year. We appreciate all of your prayers for safety and favorable weather and are looking forward to another exciting day tomorrow!

  1. Wow! Where's the ark?! It looks like you stayed dry, but you still got "muddy" (cement). Derek, you are so good at RE-doing lights... I hope you shared your light story with the guys! It looks a little chilly from the pictures... I'll try and "pray" you some sunshine!
